The Royal Society for Protection of Nature in collaboration with Dratshang Lhensthok is developing an environmental education handbook for monastic schools and institutions. The purpose of the handbook is to educate and involve monks and nuns in the conservation and management of the environment.

In a workshop organized by RSPN at Paro from 13 to 16 April 2012, six lopons from Dratshang Lhensthok had actively participated and contributed in the development of a frame work of the handbook. Issues such as waste management, water, forest and bio-diversity promotion and conservation, greening of the local environment and some healthy environmental tips were covered in the hand book.

Copies of the environmental hand book will be distributed to all monastic schools and institutions through Dratshang Lhentshok.
