A team from RSPN, together with officials from the Ministry of Finance, Royal Government of Bhutan, Bhutan Trust Fund for Environmental Conservation, Tarayana Foundation, the Bhutan Youth Development Fund, and  SELWA, participated in a three-day capacity-building programme titled โ€œLeveraging AI Tools for Research Grant Proposal Developmentโ€, facilitated by the Royal Thimphu College Training and Professional Services Centre.

In todayโ€™s rapidly evolving digital era, Artificial Intelligence (AI) and digital transformation are reshaping how organisations design, plan, and implement innovative and globally relevant solutions. From analysing complex datasets to strengthening proposal writing and identifying funding opportunities, AI is emerging as a powerful tool to enhance efficiency, accuracy, and strategic decision-making.

As climate and environmental challenges continue to intensify, conservation organisations such as RSPN must continuously evolve to remain effective and impactful. Adapting to emerging technologies is no longer optional; it is essential for delivering greater results on the ground.

The training programme equipped participants with skills to use AI responsibly as a supportive โ€œdigital assistant,โ€ enhancing productivity while ensuring that human judgement, ethical considerations, and local knowledge remained central to all decision-making processes.

This initiative represented an important step toward building future-ready, digitally empowered conservation institutions in Bhutan, strengthening their capacity to respond more effectively to climate change and biodiversity challenges.

The training was supported under ongoing Adaptation Fund and Green Climate Fund projects implemented by RSPN, reflecting a broader commitment to institutional strengthening for climate resilience and sustainable development in Bhutan.
