Instructors from 13 Non Formal Centres (NFE) under the Wang Watershed Management Program (WWMP) attended a three day workshop which was intended to accustom the participants with the Community Watershed Management manual. The workshop, which took place at Lango, Paro, provided an opportunity for the participants to get engaged in various activities like environmental games, natural resource and watershed mapping, etc. They also conducted water quality test in the nearby stream. The water quality test is an important aspect of the environmental education program to gauge the pollution level and this has led the participants to practically understand the cause of pollution.
The workshop was also attended by four Assistant District Education Officers from the Dzongkhags falling under WWMP. They have been identified as the focal persons for the NFE program and hence it was imperative for them to get familiarized with the community watershed management.
A continuity workshop was also conducted for the NFE learners and instructors from Phobjikha valley. An instructor along with five learners from NFE centers of Gangtay, Drang Hal, Kikhorthang, Ramachen and Gogona villages attended the training workshop on Community Watershed Management.
