Call for Applications, 2025:  Small Study Grant for  Schools in Bhutan

Funded under the UNESCO Participation Programme 2024–2025, the Royal Society for Protection of Nature (RSPN), in collaboration with the Bhutan National Commission for UNESCO and the Ministry of Education and Skills Development (MoESD), is pleased to announce the 2025 Small Study Grants Program.

Theme: ‘Enhancing Climate and Biodiversity Knowledge in Bhutan’s Schools to Promote Sustainability’

About the Grant

The objective of this grant program is to:

  • Tackle local environmental issues, with a particular emphasis on Climate Change.
  • Discover and promote nature-based solutions through STEM (Science, Technology, Engineering, and Mathematics) learning.
  • Strengthen climate and biodiversity awareness among Bhutanese citizens via active networks of UNESCO Clubs, ASPnet Schools, and Nature Clubs in schools.

This initiative aims to empower selected schools with financial support to conduct field-based studies, involve local communities, and implement hands-on climate action projects throughout Bhutan.The eligible institutions to apply for the grant are schools with an active UNESCO Club, ASPnet-affiliated schools, and schools with a registered Nature Club.

Selection & Grant Details

A total of 17 schools will be awarded grants based on the quality, feasibility, and innovation of their proposed projects.

Grant Amount: Nu. 30,000 per school

Application Process

Interested schools must prepare a brief concept proposal using the format provided in Annexure I – Click here to download Annexure I
