Training for Community Forest Executive Members

From 4th-7th February 2010, RSPN in coordination with Trashigang Forestry Sector trained executive members of community forest under Kangpara and Thrimshing geogs at Lamyoung in Kangpara (administrative blocks).

The training focused on Book-keeping, Financial Management and practical training on Silviculture Options. with the following objectives: 1) to train the Community F members on forestry inventory and regulations for self functioning and organization, 2) to train the CF members on proper accounting and management and 3) to train the Community Forest members on Silviculture Options and Community Forest development approaches. About 15 CF Executive Members from CFs of Berdungma under Thrimshing geog, Merda, Lamyoung, Maduwa and Passangphu under Kangpara geog attended the training.

From 18th-21st February 2010, a similar training was initiated for the Community Forest Executive Members under Lumang and Khaling geogs in Moshi Non-formal Education Center. About 22 CF Executive members from CFs of Moshi, Wagkhar, Dungmanma and Drupkhang under Lumang geog, and Bjeri, Lemi, Lamdoksa and Namseling under Khaling geog attended the training. The above training was lead by Dungkhag Forest Officers of Wamrong and Thrimshing Dungkhag Administrations, Forest Officers of concerned geogs and Range Officers form the Dungkhag Territorial Forest Office.
