Dear Nature Lovers,
Today, we are asking for your help to save the White-bellied Heron, one of the world’s most critically endangered species. With fewer than 60 herons left in the wild worldwide, including fewer than five known breeding pairs, their survival is hanging by a thread. Bhutan is home to nearly 45% of the world’s population and 90% of the known breeding birds. Although we are working tirelessly to protect their natural habitats and the wild population, the heron’s tiny numbers put them at great risk of vanishing before we can fully understand their needs. Time is running out, and they could be lost forever.
Why it’s crucial?
The White-bellied Heron is a symbol of Bhutan’s unique natural heritage. But without urgent action, it could disappear from the wild forever. That’s why RSPN is launching a critical fundraising campaign to protect this iconic bird through in-situ and ex-situ conservation efforts in Bhutan.
