Environmental Education Program


The Royal Society for Protection of Nature (RSPN) in collaboration with Shari Higher Secondary School (SHSS), Paro, organized an Environmental Education Program in Paro on October 9, 2019. During the program, a quiz competition, several environment based presentations, an exhibition, and an outdoor event was organized.

Mr. Hiromasa Yamaguchi, Coordinator from Japan Environmental Education Forum (JEEF) did a presentation on how long the particular waste takes to decompose.

A quiz competition was also organized on Environmental Education theme whereby students showcased their talents through exhibition on various themes.

A cultural dance was also performed to make the program more lively and interesting.

Ms. Khachi Wangmo from RSPN in her closing remark thanked all the participants and partners.

Later, the students were taken to the stream adopted by SHSS to conduct a stream flow activity. The students were asked to identify the stream type and sampling methods. They were also asked to note the macroinvertebrates observed in the particular stream, which can be a method to gauge the water quality of a particular stream.
