A two-day capacity-building workshop on #EarthRanger, #Eco-restoration and project ideation to implement #NBSAP Targets were successfully concluded on December 25, 2025 at White-bellied Heron Ecolodge in Zhemgang. The workshop was attended by 28 Forestry Officials from across the country, especially from White-bellied Heron landscape.

The workshop provided the platform to strengthen capacities, discussion of exit strategies, project ideation and introduction of new technological Ai Tool.

๐——๐—ฎ๐˜† ๐—ข๐—ป๐—ฒ focused on introducing RSPNโ€™s conservation initiatives, followed by an insightful session on ecological restoration. The session was led by Mr. Ghimiray, Forestry Officer, Tsirang Division, who shared valuable experiences and lessons learned from ecorestoration activities in the field. Later in the afternoon, RSPN also led a project ideation workshop in implementing NBSAP activities that are relevant to RSPNโ€™s thematic areas of work. The participants were familiarized with all the Targets and then participated in group exercises to formulate some of the activities that are aligned to NBSAPs 20 Targets.

๐——๐—ฎ๐˜† ๐—ง๐˜„๐—ผ centered on the EarthRanger workshop, highlighting the toolโ€™s potential to enhance monitoring of the critically endangered White-bellied Heron and other associated species. Participants were introduced to the toolโ€™s real-time data collection capabilities, enabling more effective planning, response, and conservation management. The session included a practical field exercise, allowing participants to test the tool and share feedback based on firsthand experience.

RSPN is introducing EarthRanger as part of its ongoing commitment to strengthen species protection efforts through data driven processes. Real-time field data is expected to significantly enhance decision-making, conservation planning, and implementation of protection measures for the White-bellied Heron.

RSPN extends its gratitude to all participants for their active engagement and commitment toward advancing conservation efforts.
